Preschool Program: ages 2 1/2 - 4
Children make friends and build self confidence while they play and learn. Indoor and outdoor activities include working with clay, water, sand, physical games, art, singing, nature study, blocks, stories and dramatic play. Special weekly programs include music, foreign language and physical fitness. A professional musician, artist or other special guest visits monthly. Parents decide whether the child should have an opportunity to nap in the afternoon. Those children who do not sleep rest while hearing music and stories for 45 minutes before rising to join afternoon activities, including outdoor play.
Pre-Kindergarten Program: ages 4 - 5
This is an active play and learning group. Indoor and outdoor activities include games, art, singing, nature study, stories and dramatic play. Special weekly programs include music, foreign language and physical fitness instruction. A professional musician, artist or other special guest visits monthly. This program includes a language arts curriculum of letter recognition, writing and literature experience for appreciation and comprehension. Pratical math skills are encouraged through structured activities and games, use of measuring tools and a calendar. Children build self-sufficiency through skills such as dressing oneself and taking care of personal and classroom materials. Afternoon rest is not required. Children who wish to do so may nap or rest on a cot. Others participate in story time, guided group activities and outdoor play.
Afternoon School: ages 3 - 5
This is an active creative play and learning group. Indoor and outdoor activities include games, art, singing, nature study, stories and dramatic play. Special weekly programs include music, foreign language and physical fitness. A professional musician, artist or other invited guest visits monthly. This program includes a language arts curriculum of letter recognition, writing and literature experience for appreciation and comprehension. Practical math skills are encouraged through structured activities and games, use of measuring tools and a calendar. Children build self-sufficiency through skills such as dressing oneself and taking care of personal and classroom materials. This program is for children enrolled only in afternoon school and does not include a rest time.
Summer Day Camp Program: ages 3 - 7
Each week's activities will delight children with options for play and learning; art, crafts, nature study, gardening, games, literature, singing and drama. Special events include field trips and demonstrations by community members such as farmers, bakers and firefighters. A professional musician visits monthly.
